About Us

Sanguine Productions was founded in 1998 as a production house to make the best in role-playing entertainment. Our flagship product, Ironclaw, amazed critics and consumers alike with its high-quality illustration, superior game design, and long-term commitment to the consumer’s needs. The goal then remains the goal today — fads may come and go, but quality stays around. We would later follow up with Jadeclaw, our first full-color book, Albedo, hailed for its unflinching, dramatic portrayal of military combat, and Usagi, a fitting tribute to the award winning samurai saga.

The word “sanguine” means many things. It’s a reddish-brown color of chalk often used for sketches, life-drawings, and rustic scenes. It’s a personality type, for one who loves to entertain, who is full of energy, and who hopes for the future. It can refer to blood, or to the color of blood red. We chose the name Sanguine because we wanted our company to be experimental, vibrant, and full of life — all the best things.
